Kylee: Mommy...the kitty has a lizard up in your room.
Mommy: Huh? (confused look as she is sure she JUST let the kitty out back)
Kylee: Kitty has a lizard up in your room.
Mommy: How do you know?
Kylee: Because I saw her bring it in and I followed her and she is in your room with the lizard.
Mommy: (groan) Great....does she have it now?
Kylee: No, she let it go.
Mommy: Ok...
Kylee: Let's go catch the lizard.

Kylee: Come on Kade, let's go save the lizards life.
Kade: OK Kyee.
Kylee heading toward stairs...Kade in tow....
Kylee: Come on mommy...we have to go save the lizard...you have to come because Kade's going up the stairs.
Mommy follows...thinking to self....most unlikely lizard saving heroes ever....

Kylee: See mommy, the lizard is over here. (cat staring intensely under wicker dog bed....Kylee lifts it....no lizard)
Mommy: Or not.
Kylee: Oh dear (yes, common phrasing for this 5 year old thanks to her nani). Let's spread out and look for the lizard. Kade...you go check by the bed, mommy, you check here (by dog bed) and I'll (pause) go check with Kade.
Kade: Kyee...I found mouse.
Kylee: No Kade, we are looking for a lizard (thank God just cat toy mouse...otherwise moving out of house)
Kade: oh
