Sarcasm is a form of parenting...

I often say I never realized how sarcastic I was until I became a parent. I can never really give examples, though.

So, here goes...

Kylee has recently gotten into the habit of getting out of our bed in the middle of the night. I probably cursed myself because recently while talking to a friend who said her child was doing that, I said "Kylee wakes up but she never gets out of bed...she just calls". The very next week...I open my eyes to tapping on my arm and two little eyes looking peaking at me.
So on the 3rd night in a row of doing this (and me being exhausted) I just told her to climb into bed. In the am, I asked her why she came in, and she said she had a bad dream.

Me: what kind of bad dream?
Kylee: (breaking eye contact and staring at bed) "about crocodiles"
Me: crocodiles?
Kylee: yes...but these were special crocodiles...they talked.
Me: Talking crocodiles?
Kylee: Yes! And they were eating Jolies leg!
Me: Talking crocodiles that were eating Jolies' leg?
Kylee: Yes...and then they were eating my leg.
Me: Talking crocodiles that were eating yours and Jolies legs...you know what I would've done?
Kylee: What?
Me: Told it not to talk with it's mouth full.
